Some organizations hold meetings. Ellenville Elks Lodge 1971 hosts the kind of cookout where a stranger walks in and leaves feeling like family. That warmth isn't accidental. It's been built over decades by members who show up, who maintain the grounds, who keep the pavilion ready for a hot August night when the whole neighborhood needs somewhere to gather.

The Lodge sits on State Route 55 in Napanoch and punches well above its zip code in terms of community impact. Every summer, the grounds come alive with the concert series sponsored by the Napanoch Public Interest Group, drawing locals out for live music on well-kept lawns that members take genuine pride in maintaining. Visitors consistently remark on how clean and cared-for everything looks, because the people here actually care.

With a 4.8-star rating earned from real members and guests, Lodge 1971 isn't coasting on its charter. It's an active, breathing organization where the food is genuinely good, the conversation is real, and the sense of belonging is immediate. If you've been thinking about joining or attending an event, the door is open.

What We Offer

Lodge 1971 offers far more than a meeting room. The outdoor pavilion serves as the social heart of the property, hosting cookouts, community gatherings, and the popular summer concert series that draws crowds from across the Ulster County region. Whether you're a longtime Elk or a first-time guest, you'll find the atmosphere relaxed and the welcome genuine.

Membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks connects you to a national fraternal network while keeping your roots firmly local. Lodge activities include charitable fundraising, veteran support programs, youth initiatives, and social events throughout the year. Members gain access to the Lodge facilities, a community of like-minded neighbors, and the satisfaction of contributing to causes that actually move the needle in the Catskills region.

Guest attendance at sponsored events is encouraged. Check the Lodge calendar or reach out through the elks.org member portal to find upcoming events, learn about the membership process, or inquire about hosting a private gathering on the Lodge grounds.

"I attended a meeting here. We met outside in the pavilion. I have never been inside. The night we were there the weather was very hot and humid. I think the Elks should spring for some big ceiling fans to put in the pavilion. It gets incredibly warm under there. While the fans won't cool it much, it will circulate the air and hopefully offer a light breeze."
